Ben Aden and Sgurr na Ciche from Sgurr Mor. 11am, 07/08/95 ~ With a gun at my head and ordered to name the finest viewpoint in Scotland, this Sgurr Mor, a minor eminence on the North Morar ridge and not in any list, would be my choice. I haven't spent a night on it, but hope to rectify this before the mortal coil shuffles off. A midsummer sunset from the nearby Cnoc a'Bhac Fhalaichte could be a bit special too.

The Western Isles at Tarbet, Loch Nevis.2.15pm, 07/08/95~ The gentleman holding the mailbag is Donald MacDonald, postmaster and at the time the sole resident of Tarbet. He was born a mile west at Ardintigh in 1915.Tarbet was once a major centre of the herring fishery, and Donald's house was a busy inn, but the coming of the railway to the remote clachan of Mallaig in 1901 marked the start of Tarbet's decline into obscurity.
