Glasgow Garden Festival 1988

The Glasgow Garden Festival in 1988, shots taken in the course of several visits. The clear blue skies were in May, but it seemed to rain for most of the rest of the summer. The chestnut-haired 10 year old who appears in a number of them is my oldest nephew John.

John fancied a ride on the Coca-Cola Roller.

By halfway up the launch ramp, I think he was having second thoughts.

By the top, so was I.

You seemed to spend most of the ride upside down.

In this case it’s the photo that’s upside down, to show more clearly some of the layout of the Festival.

Having survived the outward ride, we were both a bit more relaxed for the return.

I think she was called ‘Foam’.

Nephew no.2 didn’t really get it, he was too young.
